A lasting legacy at Manchester Airport
R&M Developments is proud to have been recognised for its contribution to the successful delivery of the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP) – the airport's most ambitious redevelopment in its 88-year history.
The £1.3 billion programme has transformed Manchester Airport into a world-class international gateway, with the completion of the state-of-the-art Terminal 2 marking the culmination of more than a decade of planning, collaboration and construction.
As part of the celebrations, Manchester Airport has unveiled Atmospheric Reflections of the North, a spectacular chandelier installation suspended within Terminal 2 Security East. The artwork reimagines two original airport chandeliers and is made up of 482 individual parachutes, each representing one of the organisations and individuals who helped deliver this once-in-a-generation project.
R&M Developments has been honoured with Parachute Tag Number 401, recognising the company's role in bringing the transformation programme to life. The commemorative tag forms a permanent part of the installation, creating a lasting connection between R&M Developments and one of the UK's most significant aviation infrastructure projects.
Throughout the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme, R&M Developments successfully delivered several key infrastructure packages, helping to improve the airport's operational efficiency while ensuring works were completed safely within one of the UK's busiest live environments.
This recognition reflects the dedication, expertise and professionalism of the entire R&M Developments team and everyone who contributed throughout the programme.
Being acknowledged within this permanent installation is a proud milestone for the business and serves as a lasting reminder of the role R&M Developments played in shaping the future of Manchester Airport.
